Resources
Discovered and undiscovered resources on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS) are estimated to total 13 billion standard cubic metres of oil equivalent (bn scm oe).

Cumulative output since production began from the NCS in 1971 comes to 5.3 bn scm oe – or 41 per cent of the total. Remaining recoverable resources thereby amount to 7.7 bn scm oe.
Production from the NCS totalled 238.6 million scm oe in 2009.
