System operation
This unit is reponsible for planning, monitoring, coordinationg, managing and supervising the product flow through the integrated gas transport system from field to receiving terminals. It also manages and deveops information technology systems.

Asset management

This unit is responsible for operation and maintenance of the entire Norwegian gas transport network, and for managing the interface with the owners of this system. Norway’s gas transport system comprises the Kårstø and Kollsnes processing plants, 8 000 kilometres of pipeline, four platforms, and receiving terminals in Germany, Belgium, France and the UK. Asset management is also responsible for all projects in the execution phase, whether they concern improvements to existing facilities or new installations. Its work is based on extensive support from other Gassco units and from external suppliers, with Statoil as the largest.

Technology
This is a support unit with leading-edge expertise in selected technology areas, and it makes a key contribution to both daily operations and the development of the gas transport system. It is also responsible for research and development.

Business development and finance 
This unit is responsible for administering the joint ventures/companies served by Gassco as operator, including necessary negotiations, budgets, accounts, payments, receipts and so forth. It also allocates and administers the capacity available in the gas transport system at any given time, and charges users for the capacity they have booked. In addition, the unit handles the development of Gassco's architect role in the gas transport system in cooperation with other units, and embraces the legal function.

Project
This unit is responsible for the portfolio management of project activities and for ensuring a high quality in project development and project implementation.The unit offers leading-edge expertise within project management and it is reponsible for the project governance process, project management, estimating as well as purchasing and contract processes.

Controller
This is a staff function which primarily provides management with an instrument for cross-company control and coordination. The controller will be a prime mover in ensuring that Gassco is steered in accordance with its strategies, goals and management principles.

Health, safety, environment and quality
This unit is responsible for establishing, operating and supervising Gassco's management system. That also includes the responsibility for the company's total internal and external supervisory system as well as government relations.

Public relations
Public relations is a staff function with responsibility for framing the company's information policy and being the company's press contact.

Human resources (HR)
The unit is responsible for the internal administration services related to HR and organisation, offices and property.
