Frame agreements for maintenance and modification work at the Kårstø and Kollsnes gas processing plants have been awarded to Aibel AS by Statoil, acting on behalf of operator Gassco.

These contract renewals will run for a further four years, with options to extend them by two plus two years.

“The contract award process has been characterised by quality at every stage, which means we are very confident in the chosen supplier,” says Brian Bjordal, chief executive of Gassco.

“When meeting the challenges posed by plant aging, it is crucial that we collaborate with a competent contractor who can ensure efficient execution of the modifications required to sustain high regularity and safe operation.”

Together with a similar contract for the Sture oil terminal operated by Statoil, the agreements with Aibel for the two west Norwegian processing plants are worth some NOK 1 billion.

Gassco is operator for Kårstø and Kollsnes, which are owned by the Gassled partnership, with Statoil as the technical service provider.
